Short-term insurer Mutual & Federal has announced the appointment of John Nienaber as Executive: Corporate & Niche. Nienaber joins the Mutual & Federal team from Ace Insurance where he was employed as the company’s CEO. John will be replacing Karen Miller, who enjoyed a fulfilling and successful career at Mutual & Federal.

Nienaber’s last position was at Ace Insurance, where he was employed as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he occupied the role of General Manager and board member at Stalker Hutchison Admiral Insurance (a subsidiary of Santam). In this role, he was actively involved in the merger between Stalker Hutchison and Admiral Underwriting Agency, as well as restoring profitability to the combined business.

Amongst his many professional successes, John considers his ongoing involvement in shaping the next-generation leadership in the businesses he represented, a key highlight in his professional journey to date.

“John brings a wealth of insurance and leadership experience and I really look forward to the contributions he will make in taking our Corporate & Niche business forward to new heights,” adds Raimund Snyders, CEO of Mutual & Federal.

John Nienaber’s role will be effective from 1 July 2016.
