Yedwa Mjiako

Yedwa Mjiako has been appointed Managing Director – Absa Mortgage Fund Managers, Absa Investments, effective October 2011. She was previously the business unit’s Chief Operating Officer.

Mjiako joined Absa Group as head of Business Risk Management at Absa Financial Services and prior to that was Chief Director, Internal Audit, at National Treasury after holding senior positions with budgetary and auditing responsibilities at KwaZulu-Natal Treasury. Her initial experience in the public sector was gained with Transnet Group Audit Services as Internal Audit Client Manager.

Mjiako has a B.Com from Vista University and an MBA from the Thames Valley University of London. She is a Certified Internal Auditor with Certification in Control Self-Assessment and holds the International Executive Leadership Development Certificate. In addition, she completed the Executive Leadership Development Programme run by the National Association of Black Accountants in association with Harvard University.
