Leading insurer, MiWay Insurance, is once again growing its Manco leadership pool with the recent announcement of Christiaan Marais’ promotion to the position Head of Actuarial within the group.

Christiaan, also known as Tiaan in the business, has over 15 years’ experience in actuarial risk management, with experience in health economics, health insurance and most notably almost 9 years as a member of MiWay’s Actuarial department. He has been the Actuarial Manager of Product Design and Pricing at MiWay for the last four and a half years, where he led an actuarial team and the underwriting of personal lines business.

Tiaan is an Associate Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and holds a MSc Mathematical Statistics degree.

“We welcome Tiaan to MiWay’s Management Committee (Manco) team, and look forward to his ongoing contribution to ensuring that MiWay takes a data-driven approach to managing risk and supporting product and service excellence for our policyholders” said Burton Naicker, MiWay CEO.

MiWay is a licensed non-life insurer and Financial Services Provider (FSP 33970).
