Following the recent merger of a division of SNG Grant Thornton in Durban with BDO South Africa, BDO is proud to announce the following appointments to Director:

Ahmed Timol CA(SA) - Director
Ahmed is a qualified chartered accountant and registered auditor. He has 20 years’ experience within audit, audit quality control and tax services. Ahmed has expertise in public sector work and is well versed in IFRS and GRAP. Ahmed is a member of SAICA’s Eastern Region Council and he serves on the Accountancy Profession Transformation and Education Committee (APTEC) in the Eastern Region.

Ebrahim Lakhi (CA(SA) - Director
Ebrahim is a qualified chartered accountant and a registered auditor, with almost 30 years’ experience within audit. Ebrahim’s areas of expertise include business and finance, providing audit services to large and medium audit clients in various industry sectors including manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, retail, service and non-profit associations.

Gillian Bass CA(SA) - Director
Gillian is a qualified chartered accountant and a registered auditor, with almost 12 years’ experience. Gillian’s areas of expertise include manufacturing, property, retails and the service industry, these include listed entities.

Catherine Tillard CA(SA) - Director
Catherine is a qualified chartered accountant and a registered auditor with over 20 years’ experience within the audit field. Catherine’s areas of expertise include manufacturing, retail and distribution industries as well as the services industry, publishing, property and NPO’s, including schools.

Leanne Laxson CA(SA) - Director
Leanne is a qualified chartered accountant and a registered auditor with 15 years’ experience within the audit. Leanne’s areas of expertise include listed entities, state owned companies, financial services and the manufacturing sector. From a corporate finance perspective, she has experience in the conduct and management of special assignments such as due diligence investigations, valuations and systems reviews.
