Shanay Narsi has joined the business development team at Mergence Investment Managers, as the black-owned specialist fund manager gears up to grow assets under management, particularly in infrastructure investments.

Mr Narsi joins Mergence from Nedgroup where he was Senior Institutional Investment Consultant responsible for marketing a range of local and offshore portfolios to retirement funds and other institutional clients. Prior to that he worked as an investment analyst at Vunani Securities, BoE Private Clients and Nedgroup Investments. He qualified with a BCom (Hons) Finance from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2004.

Bongani Jack, Head of Business Development at Mergence Investment Managers, said that Mr Narsi would focus on corporates, consultants and multi-managers and that his previous exposure to the unit trust industry would be useful as Mergence started to roll out a suite of retail products in absolute return and equity.

The Mergence business development team consists of Bongani Jack, Ronel Bantjes, Fatima Sadan and Shanay Narsi.
