Masthead appoints new MD

Joleen John, Group Managing Director of Masthead

Joleen John has been appointed as Group Managing Director of Masthead, effective from 1 March 2022.

A seasoned professional with over 22 years’ work experience across a range of industries, John aims to “maintain the purpose of Masthead, whilst navigating changing environments to strategically grow as needed.”

“Masthead’s purpose remains to keep independent financial advisors (IFAs) and their businesses sustainable and ahead of the curve when it comes to changing legislation, risk management and learning capabilities,” says John. “Compliant financial service providers, in turn, treat customers fairly and this aligns with my values.”

Experienced in interacting with IFAs and helping to grow their practices, John is passionate about the financial advice industry. She believes Masthead can continue to make a positive impact in the communities it serves.

“Masthead has always been a leading voice in the IFA market in South Africa. As Group MD, I can play a significant part in helping Masthead sustain this role.”

John has taken over at the helm from Ian Middleton, who retired in February 2022.
