Maitland appoints senior business development manager in Johannesburg

Maitland, the international legal, tax fiduciary and fund services group, has appointed Richard Ngwenya as senior business development manager in Johannesburg.

Mr Ngwenya will spearhead Maitland’s further growth in the Gauteng region in the private client, family office and corporate services sectors, where the group has a strong reputation for complex cross-border and multijurisdictional advisory and administration services.
 
Mr Ngwenya has a BComm in Financial Accounting from the University of Cape Town and ten years’ working experience in corporate finance and investment banking following his audit articles in 2005. He speaks English, Zulu, Shona and French.
 
He joins Maitland from Nisela Capital, a boutique advisory and private equity firm covering sub-Saharan Africa, where he was executive director. Before that he worked for Barclays Wealth and Investment where he helped to build a private client wealth management and investment banking business and serviced the wealth management and investment banking requirements of ultra-high-net-worth individuals with assets in excess of R500 million. From 2006 to 2009 he was with Investec Private Bank where he acted as external consultant in the International and Growth & Acquisitions finance teams. Richard also serves as a member of the Directorate of Market Abuse for the Financial Services Board in South Africa.
