Liberty appoints Group Arrangements unit head
Liberty is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandile Hlophe as the Group Executive responsible for the newly established Group Arrangements business.
Mr Hlophe joins from professional services firm EY where he was Managing Partner of the Capital Markets Transaction Advisory team which operated in 33 countries across Africa. Prior to that he was at KPMG where he was a board member and Managing Partner of one of the business units. Mr Hlophe brings over 18 years of professional experience across multiple disciplines including transaction advisory, mergers & acquisitions and management consulting.
The Group Arrangements unit brings under a single leadership structure all business units focusing on corporate, institutional and group customer markets in South Africa and the rest of Africa. The unit will encompass Corporate, Health, Emerging Consumer Market and Africa Insurance businesses and is expected to spearhead Liberty’s growth into new markets through organic and non-organic strategies.
Commenting on Mr Hlophe’s appointment, Liberty CEO Thabo Dloti said: “Sandile Hlophe brings a wealth of experience to this role which further complements our executive team and will be key in driving Liberty’s growth ambitions in our chosen markets.”
Mr Hlophe’s appointment is effective 1 March 2015.
