Joining 10X as passive investing really catches on

Cedrick Pila (BCom, P.DIP, CFP), who has moved to 10X Investments from Allan Gray, is excited to have joined the disruptive asset manager as “the growing global phenomenon of passive investing really catches on in South Africa”.

10X relies on index tracking, which Pila describes as “the next big thing in South Africa”, to deliver the returns of the market as a whole, and at fees that are significantly lower than the industry average.

The excitement is mutual, says Hilan Berger, Head of Institutional Business Development at 10X.

“Cedrick brings a unique blend of enthusiasm, passion, experience and skill to the 10X team,” says Berger. “His appointment will allow 10X to further disrupt and improve the corporate retirement fund industry, enabling more South Africans to retire with dignity.”

Cedrick will join the disruptive asset manager on September 1 as Business Development Manager after six years at Allan Gray, where he worked across various teams including Retirement Operations, Investment Consultancy and Retail Distribution. His experience includes administration, servicing, leadership and distribution.

Cedrick, who is a Certified Financial Planner, is passionate about investor education.
