Peter Olyott: Muller will hand over the baton to Peter Olyott.

After many years of leadership in the insurance industry, Indwe Broker Holdings CEO Giel Muller recently announced his retirement. Muller will hand over the baton to Peter Olyott, who will take over responsibilities on 1 May, on top of his current role of MD at Indwe Risk Services.

Muller started his career in insurance on 3 January 1980 at Prestasi in Johannesburg. "It is unbelievable to think that we built a specialist personal lines broker with one office and less than 20 staff, into a market leader in corporate, commercial and personal lines insurance with the largest footprint in the whole of Africa,” Muller says.

Muller attributes his successful career to the resilient people he has worked with. "I only have the highest regard for the passionate people and committed teams around me who were never scared to risk or fail and rose to the challenges," Muller continues.

Peter Olyott, MD of Indwe Risk Services pays tribute to Muller. "Indwe Risk Services’ excellent service, innovative products and timeless values are borne from decades of experience garnered by South Africa's insurance leaders and trailblazers. Giel Muller is one of those men, and we are immensely grateful for the work he has done," says Olyott. Muller will be taking over the helm as MD of Aquamat South Africa, a water management and purification company acquired by his family trust. "We wish Giel well for his exciting new venture and every success on the road ahead,” Olyott concluded.
