Glacier by Sanlam appoints product development head

Patrick Sheehy has been appointed Associate Director: Product management at Glacier.

He will head up the team of product managers who support the sales function within Glacier by ensuring that the company has a solution set that meets the needs of the affluent market.

Anton Raath, chief executive of Glacier, said that Sheehy’s extensive experience in the product development environment made him well suited to achieve the objectives of the new role, which include a strong focus on the company’s diversified solution set.

Sheehy started his career in South Africa in the product development environment at Southern Life and later Momentum Life. He has been involved in a variety of disciplines across the First Rand Group including the development of the Bancassurance business at First National Bank and Momentum.

He studied Actuarial Science in Dublin and through the Institute of Actuaries.
