Glacier by Sanlam appoints Elton James as Head of Sales for Glacier International

We're pleased to announce the appointment of Elton James as Head of Sales for Glacier International, effective 1 May 2026. In this role Elton will focus on strengthening distribution capability, deepening partner relationships, and enhancing collaboration in the execution of Glacier’s international growth strategy.

Prior to this appointment, Elton was head of Corporate Business since 1 April 2013 responsible for networks, stockbrokers, private banks, corporate relationships, asset managers and key strategic relationships with a business-to-business focus. He was also responsible for the Glacier Retirement Fund Solution.

In 2004, Elton began his career in financial services at Metropolitan Odyssey after returning from a four-year stint in the UK. He joined Sanlam in 2005, before moving to Glacier’s Investment Distribution Channel in April 2006, as an investment account manager. In 2010, Elton relocated to Johannesburg to head up the Glacier Investment Channel.

Elton holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Stellenbosch, an Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning form University of the Free State and has completed the Sanlam Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) through the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
