GIB Marine – Staff Appointment

16 April 2021 GIB Insurance Brokers

Dear Colleagues

GIB MARINE – STAFF APPOINTMENT

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Juliet Maullin as Head of Marine with effect from 1 May 2021, reporting to me.

Juliet succeeds Roly Hill in this important role and we thank him for his contribution to the success of GIB over many years. We are in discussion with Roly regarding a consultancy role in terms of which he will provide valuable support to Juliet and the Marine team on identified projects.

We are privileged to have Juliet join us from Marsh, where she was employed in excess of 19 years, working her way up from a claims technician to the positon of National Practice Leader (Marine & Aviation) at the time of her departure.

Juliet has excelled in identifying new business targets, formulating growth strategies, creating team awareness and compliance with in-country insurance legislation as well as compliance with compulsory marine cargo insurance requirements across the Africa region. She brings strong leadership and managerial skills to her role.

She has forged strong, strategic industry relationships - her insurance network not only extends to local markets but also to international marine markets, viz. London and sub-Saharan Africa including Mauritius.

Juliet is a member of the IISA, a RE Level1 representative and has completed various advanced insurance and management programmes and training courses over the course of her career.

Please join me in welcoming Juliet to the GIB family. We wish her a long, happy and successful career at GIB and am confident that GIB Marine will go from strength to strength under her leadership.

Regards,

Jurie Erwee
