Franklin Templeton Investments1 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rod MacPhee as Research Analyst/Portfolio Manager in the Franklin Templeton Fixed Income Group, as the next step in the firm’s initiative to grow its European fixed income capabilities. MacPhee, based in London, will focus on the European Fixed Income portfolios and reports to David Zahn, Head of European Fixed Income.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, MacPhee was since 2006 a portfolio analyst at Western Asset Management Group, a global bond management company, where he worked on the European Credit Desk providing support for the portfolio manager across a wide range of funds. Previously, MacPhee was a client relationship manager at Group Retirement Services, one of Canada’s largest pension providers. He has a degree in Finance from the University of Lethbridge, Canada.

This hire follows the launch in April 2013 of a new initiative to put additional focus on Franklin Templeton’s European Fixed Income offerings, in recognition of growing institutional and retail client demand for dedicated European fixed income strategies.

David Zahn said:

"We are excited to have Rod MacPhee on board and believe his experience will be highly valuable in supporting our initiative to generate European fixed income investment ideas and solutions. This is an important asset class for both retail and institutional investors throughout the region and MacPhee’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to enhancing our client offering in this space”.
