Coface appoints Chief Commercial Officer

William Surmon has been appointed chief commercial officer at Coface. He will be responsible for the full commercial structure at Coface which incorporates customer relationship management, sales, brokers, marketing and commercial underwriting.

“His appointment is part of a planned leadership transition that Coface announced earlier this year,” said Maniki Rakgalakane, chief executive officer, Coface South Africa.

“Mr Surmon joins us with a wealth of experience in the financial services market and with large multinationals. His commercial experience in sales growth will provide an impetus on increasing new business, client retention and expanding Coface’s services and credit insurance offerings,” said Mr Rakgalakane.

Coface has a direct presence in 67 countries and provides guarantees in nearly 200 countries. The company was listed on Euronext Paris in 2014. “The Group has global capabilities to support clients’ in their home markets and with exports by offering credit insurance services tailored to their needs,” he said.
