CIB appoints Wilhelm von La Chevallerie as Managing Director
CIB is pleased to announce that it has appointed Wilhelm von La Chevallerie as Managing Director of CIB Insurance Administrators.
The appointment has been made in line with CIB's partnership with RMBSI and its strategy of becoming a fully-fledged short- term insurer. Wilhelm will continue working closely with CEO Douglas Donnelly.
Wilhelm joined CIB three years ago as a member of CIB's executive team and has played an integral role in the company’s continued growth. Wilhelm describes his career to date as a fortunate path through a variety of sectors of the insurance industry. After initially developing IT-systems for insurance companies he honed his skills in the reinsurance sector, where he dealt with health and short-term business.
A move to the primary market coincided with exposure to UMAs as Chief Underwriting Officer at Compass Insurance. Wilhelm, also being a qualified actuary, broadened his knowledge of the industry as a consultant to the Sub-Saharan short-term market, active across areas of reserving, capital modeling and pricing.
Von La Chevallerie says, "Joining CIB has been a great opportunity to apply what I have learned so far, not that my learning ever stops."
