Chubb South Africa today announced the appointment of Alexandra Blair Schudel as Head of Intermediated Distribution and Gena Jalink as Head of Financial Lines.

In this newly-created Head of Intermediated Distribution role, Alexandra will be responsible for leading Chubb’s engagement with key broker partners across product lines and customer segments. This includes strategic execution and servicing across the Major Accounts and Middle-Markets business.

Alexandra has been in the insurance industry for 18-years and joined Chubb from Aon where she was Head of D&O. Prior to that, Alexandra managed Financial Lines for Allianz in South Africa, having spent the previous 12 years in London, holding various senior underwriting and management positions with AIG and Chubb. Alexandra rejoined Chubb five years ago, leading its Financial Lines team in South Africa.

Her successor as Head of Financial Lines for South Africa is Gena Jalink. In this role, Gena will be responsible for leading the delivery of Chubb’s Financial Lines underwriting and product offering to brokers.

Gena has worked in the insurance industry for nine years and joined Chubb from Genasys Technologies. She has been with Chubb since 2015 and has held various leadership roles including Marketing, Middle-Market, Film and Entertainment and most recently the interim Head of Financial Lines.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Gary Jack, Country President, Chubb Insurance South Africa, said:

“I am very excited to announce these key appointments which represent an important step for Chubb’s business in South Africa as we continue to grow and strengthen our presence here. Alexandra and Gena bring experience, knowledge and proven leadership capabilities to their new roles. I look forward to working with them both.”
