Chubb today announced that Tirelo Tsheoga, Senior Property Underwriter, has been promoted to the role of Head of Distribution, Sub-Saharan Africa as the company focuses on actively developing and growing its business in the Sub-Saharan region.
In his new role, Tirelo will be responsible for growing the company’s facultative reinsurance inwards business from Sub-Saharan Africa. His responsibilities will include building and developing relationships with brokers, reinsurance brokers and cedents.
Tirelo will remain based in the Sandton office, reporting to Gary Jack, Country President for Chubb Insurance South Africa. He will work closely with Chubb’s local underwriters to deliver the company’s full range of products. The appointment is effective immediately. Tirelo replaces Milenko Skoro, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company.
Tirelo has 12 years of relevant insurance industry experience. He joined Chubb in May 2016 with responsibility for servicing the company’s major global brokers based in Johannesburg and the Western Cape. Previously, Tirelo worked for Mutual and Federal Insurance Company where he spent the majority of his career in various underwriting positions, with responsibility for the production and maintenance of new and existing business.
