Cannon Asset Managers welcomes Takura Mahwehwe

Takura Mahwehwe (BCom) has been appointed a portfolio construction analyst at Cannon Asset Managers.

His function is to physically implement Cannon’s client portfolios that the Investment Team models. This is done by buying and selling securities on behalf of the client to ensure that the portfolios are in line with their mandates, monitoring portfolios for cash flows and rebalancing appropriately and implementing changes to the portfolios that the Investment Team wishes. Cannon sees implementation as integral to the investment decision making process, as the timing around stock trades and prices paid is a critical value-add for client portfolios. Takura also researches companies as well as undertaking ad hoc research projects.

With a degree in Marketing Management, Takura joined Cannon Asset Managers from McCarthy, where he was responsible for executing and managing the entire vehicle sales process. However, with a yearning to join the investment industry, Takura embarked on his CFA which he is currently completing.

Takura represented Zimbabwe in the under-19 national rugby team.
