Astute appoints finance and technology executive

Astute, the company that integrates data from life assurers and investment managers, has announced the appointment of Deon Olckers as Executive: Finance and Technology, effective from 1 August this year.

Mr Olckers has over 20 years of finance and information technology management experience. He is a Chartered Accountant, and also holds an LLB (law) degree. He attended the Management Development Program at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and an Executive Development Program from University of Michigan in the US.

After completing his articles Mr Olckers worked at Transwerk Engineering as Finance Manager responsible for transforming the management accounting policies and procedures of the business. He worked himself up to an executive level before joining ABSA Brokers where he became General Manager responsible for, among others, the strategic and operational execution of large IT projects within the insurance and broker environment.
