Astute, the financial services exchange, has announced a new organisational structure, senior staff promotions and a new appointment as it prepares for unprecedented growth in its business.
Angelo Hatzikyriacos, previously Technology Executive at Astute, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1 February 2007. He is responsible for ensuring that Astutes operational capabilities run smoothly and that the business delivers the best in client service. His portfolio includes operations, IT, key account management, training and financial needs analysis (FNA) management.
Marsha Koekemoer was promoted to Technology and Support Manager and is responsible for technology operational management and the Astute Support Centre. Helena Henning has been promoted to Training and FNA Channel Manager. A significant part of her portfolio is to ensure that the various financial needs analysis systems used in the financial services industry integrate well with Astute.
Astute also announced the appointment of Willie Snyman as Business Development Executive with effect from 5 March 2007.
Willie joins Astute from Channel Life where his role was the establishment of Channel Brokers. Previously, he held various positions in sales and management at Sanlam. He started his career in the financial services industry 30 years ago as a part-time agent for African Eagle. He joined Sanlam in 1983 and in 1991 received the Sanlam Training Manager of the Year award. Snyman holds a BA degree as well as a Certificate in Senior Management. He obtained ILPA (Life) in 1985 and ILPA (Pensions) in 1992 and is a member of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and acts as treasurer for the FPI Northern Gauteng Region.
These changes will allow Managing Director, Biddie Biddulph, to focus more closely on corporate strategy and positioning Astute for future growth. He will also be directly involved with business development, marketing and public relations, finance and compliance.
Biddulph commented: 'As our business embarks on a major new phase in its development, Im pleased to be able to make these announcements at the start of what is likely to prove a watershed year for Astute. These changes will ensure that our services to our clients remain our highest priority.
'We are fortunate to have on board people of the highest calibre and with significant experience in South Africa's fast-changing financial services industry. My congratulations to all concerned on their promotions and we take pleasure in welcoming Willie to the Astute team."
