Altrisk appoints a new chairman

24 April 2008 Altrisk

Altrisk, the specialist long-term risk product provider in the Hollard Group, today announced the appointment of Adrian Enthoven as non-executive chairman with immediate effect.

Enthoven holds a BA Hons (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and PhD (Political Science) from Oxford University in the United Kingdom, and is executive chairman at Capricorn Ventures International (CVI), an international investment group. His focus is on CVI’s investments in the insurance, financial services, restaurant and hospitality sectors. The Enthoven family founded Hollard and is the controlling shareholder.

Craig Harding, Managing Director of Altrisk says, “We are very fortunate to have someone of Adrian’s calibre joining our team. He has successfully managed a portfolio of investments on behalf of his family’s investment business since 2000 and currently serves on the boards of a number of other South African companies and NGOs. We will benefit from his experience and breadth of exposure across a range of industries.”

His achievements to date also include facilitating at the Metropolitan Chamber, the multi-party negotiating forum responsible for the democratisation of Greater Johannesburg, in the early nineties and he was also an advisor to the Elections Task Group, the national body responsible for co-ordinating the first non-racial local government elections in South Africa, in 1995.

Enthoven succeeds Rob Kelly, who emigrated earlier this year.

Enthoven says, “I’m very excited by this new role. Altrisk have challenged the traditional approach to risk products and I am looking forward to being part of their growth strategy into the future”.
