AIG’s drive to build a stronger presence in South Africa is the motivation for the recent expansion of its Client Management team which is the Company’s interface between global brokers, their major accounts and AIG’s underwriting teams. The Company recently announced the appointment of Keith Marshall as its Head of Client Management and has followed this with the appointment of two new Account Relationship Managers. They will join Junita Coetzee, who has been an Account Relationship Manager at AIG for over 7 years and Stephen Cretney, Global Accounts Manager, Multinational who has been brought into the fold to strengthen the support to clients and brokers in the key area of multinational business.
"We recently announced organisational restructuring changes aimed at optimising efficiencies in achieving our growth goals in South Africa. But success is reliant on understanding and serving clients needs, so we see the strengthening of the client management team as absolutely vital,” says Wayne Abraham, Managing Director AIG South Africa. "Our client management team will be instrumental in growing our business with our key broker partners and our major clients.”
Marshall has specialist skills in product and process mapping. He has worked closely with large corporate clients in the banking industry which means he is well positioned to begin engaging with brokers and analysing both their needs and those of their clients to deliver the true value of AIG locally.
The two new Account Relationship Manager appointments are Bukhosi Ngcolomba and Alex Macrae.
Bukhosi Ngcolomba has seven years’ experience in trade marketing, product management, channel development, distribution and account management for a range of blue-chip companies. He brings a fresh and dynamic perspective to the client management team. His core focus will be driving new business strategies and the retention of major accounts.
Alex Macrae is a seasoned insurance professional with over 30 years’ experience in the South African and Middle East markets. His extensive experience in management, underwriting, sales and claims—combined with his market relationships —will add depth to the team. Macrae will focus on retaining and developing key major accounts.
"We aim to lead the major account segment of the South African insurance market” says Marshall. "To achieve this ambitious goal, we need to add value and enhance service delivery to our major clients. That will mean working to understand their needs better and delivering AIG’s full global capabilities to them. We will also be building closer relationships with brokers to provide better solutions to mutual clients.”
