ACE appointments

David Maynard has been appointed Casualty & Financial Lines Manager at ACE Insurance South Africa.

David takes up the position from his current role as Casualty Manager Regional Major Risks in the United Kingdom, where he manages ACEs portfolio of large/global accounts placed outside the London market. Currently based in Manchester, he joined ACE in 2002 as a Casualty Underwriter from Groupama.

Barry Johnson has been appointed Regional Vice President for Accident & Health and Personal Lines insurance (Southern Africa) at ACE Insurance South Africa.

He will be responsible for developing the A&H business in Southern Africa with an initial focus on South Africa, but also including other countries such as Mozambique, Nigeria and Namibia. Barry moves from his current position as A&H Corporate Business Manager in the UK & Ireland.

Barry started his career with the ACE Group of Companies in South Africa in 1996 where he was the A&H Director for CIGNA. He moved to the Crawley, United Kingdom office in 2000, where he was Sales Development Manager until his promotion to Corporate Business Manager in 2001.
