Mutual & Federal, a member of the Old Mutual Group, is treating all claims emanating from the recent Johannesburg hail storms and the Eastern Cape floods with urgency. “We have been inundated with claims since the first day of the disastrous Eastern Cape floods and the dreadful Johannesburg hail storms”, says Heidi Dias, Head of Claims at Mutual & Federal.
“We would like to assure our customers and brokers that Mutual & Federal is working around the clock to ensure that each and every claim is handled as a matter of urgency,” she continues.
The short-term insurer has put a contingency plan in place to deliver on its promise of protecting what’s important to its customers. Since the East Rand was the hardest hit area in the Gauteng region, Mutual & Federal has dispatched its unique mobile assessment unit to ensure a swift assessment and authorisation process. In addition, motor assessors have been deployed to give preferential attention to Mutual & Federal customers in the same area.
The company has also extended operating hours at its Boksburg Multi-purpose centre.
In the Eastern Cape region, Mutual & Federal has deployed additional internal assessors and has planned for other regions to assist with the influx of claims.
“Our strategic partners such as third party suppliers, builders and repairers have been commissioned to attend to clients residing in the affected areas”.
“We would like to reassure our customers that we are doing everything we can to ensure our service meets their needs. We would also like to appeal to our customers and brokers to take advantage of the services that have been put in place”, Dias concludes.
