The Insurance Apprentice seems to be on everyone’s lips in the industry and we have and continue to receive positive feedback. With the first season of The Insurance Apprentice almost coming to an end, it is overwhelming to say the least, of the amount of support we have received from companies who have and continue to share episodes and spread the word about this initiative to fellow staff and colleagues, bearing in mind that they had to and continue to share the episodes on the intranets, as a result of YouTube being blocked on company networks.

The recent fires across the South Peninsula in March have highlighted the extreme damage which a fire can cause. The seven-day fire in Cape Town resulted in the damage of 13 houses and 500 people having to be evacuated from their homes. A total area of 6900 hectares of land was also effected, which is expected to cost approximately R6 million in damages.

According to the International Transport Forum's (ITF) latest Road Safety Annual Report, South Africa was ranked the worst for number of road fatalities out of 36 countries – an alarming statistic that is not only costing the country valuable lives, but also an estimated economic cost of R307 billion per year, as reported by the study.
