In a move to reduce the cost of claims for local consumers, CIB Insurance Administrators (CIB) has formed an affiliation with global company, Grandmark Glass, with the hopes of creating awareness around international glass pricing trends. Through this partnership, CIB are now able to relinquish excesses for its clients that make use of Grandmark windscreens. s.

Andrew Lilley, COO of CIB, says that increased competition from international suppliers will hopefully force local suppliers to review existing pricing structures and ultimately stimulate growth in the glass supply market.

“This affiliation has enabled us to cut costs when it comes to motor glass insurance claims for the benefit of the end-consumer. We are now able to offer Grandmark Glass windscreens at reduced prices whilst ensuring that there is no compromise on the quality of the windscreens being fitted. Clients will no longer need to pay the usual 20%, with a minimum of R350 of the value of the windscreen, which could potentially run into thousands of rands,” says Lilley.

He says when sourcing an auto glass supplier the safety and quality of the glass, as well as its fitment, is crucially important. “Grandmark carries certifications in most countries and either meets or exceeds their standards. Grandmark utilises the highest quality materials in automotive glass bonding systems, which conforms to all the Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEM’s) stringent installation criteria.”

Lilley explains that clients are now able to receive the same quality, safety and professional fitment without the need to pay an excess. “In the long run, these lower claim costs have the potential to reduce insurance premiums, which in turn will probably lead to more affordable insurance
