Europcar offers tyre and windscreen cover
No excess charged; cover at just R15 per day
Due to circumstantial demand, Europcar recently introduced Tyre and Windscreen Cover which provides its customers with value-for-money peace of mind when renting vehicles for business or private use across the country.
With potholes, wet weather, dirty surfaces and intermittent construction work comprising the state of the national road network, burst tyres and broken windscreens are often the outcome, resulting in additional costs for drivers, even when the damage to the vehicle is not their fault.
Through its Tyre and Windscreen (TWC) Cover – which comes with zero excess charged – Europcar is ensuring that its customers have one less thing to worry about when on their business or leisure travels.
This valuable cover can be purchased for just R15 a day when making a reservation or when picking up a vehicle, absolving drivers of any liability or cost relating to repairing windscreens or replacing tyres on rented vehicles, should the damage be caused by circumstances beyond the driver’s control – such as pothole bursting a tyre or a stone coming up from the road surface and cracking the windscreen.
Significantly, if a driver declines to take out this new Tyre and Windscreen Cover, he or she will be liable for the full amount of repairing or replacing damaged tyres and windscreens, including the payment of a handling fee, as the waivers do not cover these items.
“Given the condition of many of our roads and the extreme weather we have on occasions, we believe this is a meaningful product and service that we are offering our customers, helping them to reduced the likelihood of unnecessary costs,” said Dawn Nathan-Jones, CEO of Europcar.
“Our research has shown that there is increasing demand for this sort of cover which we believe will be strongly taken up by our customers who want a hassle-free car rental experience.”
