Cartrack Announces R150 000 Warranty Offering in Support of Highest Audited Stolen Vehicle Recovery Rate
Stolen vehicle recovery, fleet management and telematics specialist Cartrack has launched a first in South Africa with a R150 000 warranty offer for clients who have a Cartrack stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) system installed in their vehicle. With its of
Cartrack SA commenced operations in 2004 and has grown rapidly into a market-leading vehicle tracking and recovery, fleet management and telematics service provider.
“Initially, Cartrack offered a R10000 cash back in the unlikely event of non-recovery, as long as the client had correctly and timeously reported their vehicle stolen or hijacked. Now with our 95% independently audited recovery rate, we are so confident that we will recover any vehicle that is legitimately reported stolen or hijacked, we’re prepared to pay up to R150k to our clients if we don’t. This offer is valid from mid-September 2012 to all clients that install a Cartrack SVR system, subject to various terms and conditions” explains John Edmeston, managing director of Cartrack. “We will also be able to upgrade the software of our existing clients’ units for a nominal sum and so give them the huge benefit of this warranty”.
In the event of a loss without recovery, Cartrack undertakes to pay to the client a lump sum
in lieu of the book value of the vehicle, which is the average of the trade and retail value of
the vehicle as per the ITC Auto Dealers Guide as at the month of the theft, limited to
a maximum amount of R150000. This warranty only applies to Cartrack products that
include the stolen vehicle recovery service. Where the insurer or broker accepts the
warranty offer on behalf of a client and enters directly into the agreement with Cartrack, any
warranty payments due will be made to the insurer/broker in line with the terms and
conditions of their insurance policy.
Cartrack’s warranty offer is the ideal solution for clients who have no theft insurance cover on their vehicles – most commonly people who have finished paying off their vehicle finance instalments; vehicles with values of R150000 or less or who only have third party insurance cover. The warranty offer is available as a value-add at no additional cost over and above the standard retail rates for a stolen vehicle recovery system. Terms and conditions apply as measures to counter any attempts of fraud or self-enrichment.
“We firmly believe in putting our money where our mouth is and we are also very confident of our superior recovery rate. Our warranty offer could have significant positive implications in terms of the cost of insurance cover. It also means that in times of distress, our customers can breathe a little easier knowing that they have a credible and capable partner to help them through even the most frightening scenarios. It’s one of the key reasons why Cartrack is the preferred vehicle tracking company for many vehicle manufacturers, leading insurers and brokerages,” concludes John.
