SAUMA Conference

There was an air of anticipation as the crowd gathered for the 2014 South African Underwriting Managers Association (SAUMA) conference where speakers were set to discuss various issues which are pertinent to the underwriting industry.

This year’s conference was held after the May Presidential Elections and there was plenty of curiosity from the gathered crowd to hear what guest speakers Eusebius MacKaiser and Bruce Whitfield had to say about the possible fallout from the elections and the effects it could have on the financial services sector. There was also a regulatory update from the South African Insurance Association, as well as a talk on how to avoid insurance fraud from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
