Medshield Distribution Services offers market-leading life and funeral cover

30 April 2010 Medshield Distribution Services

Medshield Distribution Services, the distribution arm for Medshield Medical Scheme, is expanding – both its footprint and also its portfolio of products. This is very exciting news for the operation’s growing network of contracted brokers and for new prospective brokers too as the new additions provide even more opportunities to support the Scheme’s value proposition of being ‘Always There’.

Medshield Distribution Services launched a highly competitive life cover product at the end of 2009 to Medshield members and their beneficiaries. Medshield Distribution Services Managing Director, Jan le Roux comments, “We are really pleased to be in a position to bring this market-leading offering to the Medshield Medical Scheme member base.” He adds, “The fact is that a 34-year-old male can pay as little as R170 per month for R1.5 million worth of life cover – an attractive option well worth careful consideration.”

Partnering with Instant Life, a new generation insurance services provider, Medshield Distribution Services has therefore been able to offer members the lowest life insurance premiums for the cover level required. With a convenient application that is done entirely via the Web, clients can take out Instant Life policies from the comfort of their own home or office and the process takes only 15 minutes.

The latest product amongst a number of others to be launched recently is funeral cover, offering useful benefits that seek to prevent any additional and unnecessary stress for the bereaved. Nobody likes to think about death but being prepared can at least give you and your family the peace of mind that you won’t also have financial stress to deal with at such a difficult time.

With 6 offices currently operating around the country, Medshield Distribution Services is casting its net wider and opening new offices in Nelspruit over the next couple of months.
