The funeral and beyond - Excellence from Assupol Life

01 July 2010 Assupol Life

There are many hardships that follow death. Apart from emotional stress, the financial impact is great. One has to deal with funeral costs first, but must bear in mind that the remaining dependants might be in dire straits due to much reduced means.

Lump sum risk products, in particular ones that do not require medical underwriting like Assupol Life’s Progress 4Sure Plan, address the need for funds after the funeral. But the reality is that a large percentage of South Africans only have funeral cover.

Assupol Life added benefits on their successful Excellence Family Funeral Plan with the introduction of the following:

- The Family Income Benefit allows for the payment of a monthly amount for a period of 6 months on the death of the Principal Life Assured to assist dependants in regaining financial stability.

- The Accidental Death Benefit allows for the payment of a lump sum on the accidental death of the Life Assured.

Assupol Life retained the Assupol On-Call benefit providing services such as transportation of the deceased, along with the automatic inclusion of a Premium Waiver benefit. The optional Cashback benefit is also still available.

Multiple insured lives on a single policy, swift claim payouts and the availability of cover growth ensure that the Excellence Family Funeral Plan is tailor-made to address most funeral cover needs – even certain needs beyond the funeral.

The upgraded Excellence Family Funeral Plan is available from 1 July 2010.
