Sanlam Private Investments rapidly attracts R1 billion to new Investment Advisory Service

08 November 2011 | Investments | General | Sanlam Private Investments (SPI)

The Investment Advisory Service launched by Sanlam Private Investments (SPI) earlier this year has already attracted more than R1 billion in assets under advice. The strong uptake for the Investment Advisory Service – which provides holistic, integrated wealth management advice to high net worth individuals – is attributed by SPI to the demand for bespoke multi-asset class investment solutions, balanced portfolios and diversification in the current global climate.

SPI CEO Daniël Kriel says it is exciting to see SPI’s strategic vision coming to life. “This rapid inflow of funds confirms we are doing the right things for our clients. The Investment Advisory Service is a key component of our integrated wealth management offering, as is our new fiduciary and tax service. We are now able to partner closely with our clients to design wealth management solutions tailored specifically for them as individuals.”

According to Johnny Wood, head of the Investment Advisory Service at SPI, the task of wealth managers is to both preserve and create the wealth of their clients. “Recent international research* confirms that high net worth individuals in the post-global crisis environment are looking for a more integrated set of capabilities to meet their complex needs. The current uncertainty in the financial markets and the subsequent volatility means it is now more critical than ever that private client businesses offer the necessary guidance to navigate this choppy environment.”

SPI’s total wealth management offering now includes all aspects of local and international high net worth private client investment, from stockbroking and portfolio management, to multi-asset class investment advice, fiduciary and tax services, and the only independent art advisory service in South Africa.
