Sanlam Investments Management’s range of domestic collective investment schemes will be renamed SIM rather than Sanlam funds

11 August 2008 | Investments | General | Sanlam Investment Management

As of August 1, Sanlam Investments Management’s range of domestic collective investment schemes will be renamed SIM rather than Sanlam funds – a reflection of the award-winning investment expertise that is behind the management of these unit trusts.

The Registrar of Collective Investments has given approval to rename the 12 funds previously named Sanlam funds in the table below. Please note that this is a change in name alone and that the investment aim and way these funds are managed will remain the same, since Sanlam Investment Management (SIM) has been the underlying manager of the funds all along.

This completes a process we began when we launched a number of new unit trusts with the SIM name, namely our managed solution fund of funds range and our Top Choice, Active Income, Inflation Plus and World Big Blue Chip funds.

SIM is a multi-specialist investment business in that it has divided its business into smaller, semi-autonomous investment teams, or boutiques. This gives the investment managers of your funds the freedom to concentrate on honing their investment management skills and the ability to operate independently. Through their ownership of investment decisions, they are also accountable for the performance of your funds

Our investment approach has already delivered results, with a number of our unit trust funds, including our Balanced, Small Cap, Financial, Value, Industrial and Growth funds, being recognized for their industry-leading performance at the Raging Bull and Morningstar Fund 2007 awards this year.
