Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager, a leader in the South African Multi-Manager sector, has appointed Jaco-Chris Koorts as a Portfolio Manager in the team, with a specific focus on the discretionary fund manager (DFM) offering, Glacier Invest.

This appointment reinforces the team’s commitment to client centricity and to creating solutions to meet specific client investment needs.

Sanlam Investments Multi-Manager manages the retail investment solutions which are offered by Glacier Invest. This allows the DFM to offer a unique investment philosophy that combines market research, manager research, portfolio construction and portfolio management enabling clients to achieve their desired outcomes. In line with this, Jaco-Chris’ role will involve designing and blending portfolios based on a deep understanding of clients’ investment aims and how they perceive risk. He will also undertake local and global research and be responsible for harnessing the team's research capability to optimise client portfolios.
The team of solutions architects, which emphasises a collaborative approach, currently manages over R320 billion in assets under management.

Jaco-Chris joined Sanlam in 2011, after graduating with an Honours degree in Actuarial Science from Stellenbosch University. With a diverse career trajectory spanning roles at Glacier by Sanlam, Old Mutual International, and contributing to a British fintech start-up, Stubben Edge, he has honed his expertise across various facets of the financial landscape.

As a qualified actuary holding prestigious qualifications including a BCom (Actuarial Science), BCom (Hons) (Actuarial Science), FASSA, and CERA, Jaco-Chris is well-positioned to take on the demands of this role and to ensure the business maintains its leading position.
