Kenya has a lot going for it.

He lists several positives making Nairobi an increasingly attractive proposition as a financial services base.

These include:

* Kenyas strong economy, with growth of more than 5% expected for 2005 as a whole;

* Strong performance by the tourism industry, with arrivals up 31% year on year;

* Success of Kenyas privatisation policy, notably in the transport industry;

* Increasing investment by international business, recently showcased by the US$35 million purchase of the Lonhro Hotels Kenya portfolio by Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia and Fairmont Hotels and their commitment of a further US$25 million for refurbishing and re-branding the hotels.

* Falling inflation;

* Consistently strong performance by the Kenyan stock market since the 2002 elections.
