JSE Investors can look foward to a new stock market platform on their mobiles
I-Net Bridge, part of the JSE-listed Avusa Group and provider of real-time economic and financial market data, has recently launched a mobile stock market platform. The new addition to their innovative applications, I-Mobile allows both corporate and private users to view data on Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE) indicators, tradeable instruments and their own portfolios on their cellphones.
The suite offers decision-makers live streaming feeds of JSE-listed securities, forex, bonds, news as well as customisable watchlists and portfolios, SMS alerts and graphs. There are two packages from which to choose, Premium that includes live and delayed streaming feeds and a Lite offering.
I-Net Bridge adopted the premium mobile solution from the developers, MCI consultants, following a specific customisation of the product for its requirements. “We needed a richer application than the current product we were using,” says Miles Britton-Masekela, head of business solutions at I-Net Bridge. “It provided this capability and offered multiple platform solutions as well as extra interfaces that enabled us to expand our base.”
“We are now able to provide South Africa’s financial and personnel institutions that rely on the delivery of reliable, up-to-date information from the JSE to make various business decisions, with the capability of viewing their portfolio or accessing market data with I-Mobile anywhere, anytime,” says Miles.
“Connectivity was one of the key decision criteria recognised by I-Net Bridge for their mobile activities going forward. Having access to critical data in order to respond or make decisions on-the-go is no longer a ‘nice to have’, but an essential and an integral part of today’s business environment,” commented Steven Bernard, managing director of MCI consultants.
All I-Mobile packages support Blackberry (RIM), Windows Mobile and Java-enabled devices from Samsung, SonyEricsson, Nokia, Motorola and LG, along with others.
Clients are able to personalise their watchlists and portfolios to meet their specific requirements. Visit http://www.inet.co.za/ or email us at [email protected] for a free trial.
