STANLIB launches ETFs
In addition to its existing Top 40 and ALSI Index Tracking Unit Trusts, STANLIB will soon expand this offering to include Index Tracking Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) – the STANLIB Top40 ETF and the STANLIB SWIX40 ETF. Listing on the JSE is scheduled for 18 October 2010. Once launched, the STANLIB ETFs will offer investors a wider investment choice across a spectrum of active and passive funds; a holistic offering under one asset manager.
In addition to long term investment instruments, ETFs are highly flexible trading tools which can be utilized by the institutional market - including Fund of Funds, Multi-Managers, Hedge Funds and Pensions Funds - for efficient portfolio management.
Investors will be able to access the newly launched STANLIB ETFs through any JSE registered stock broker, including online stock brokers such as Standard Bank Online Share Trading.
