Investec Asset Management wins Swiss Large Equity Group award and Mixed Asset Balanced award after consistent outperformance.
Investec Asset Management is celebrating after being awarded the Best Large Equity Group honour and the best Mixed Asset Balanced USD fund over three and five years at the Lipper Fund Awards Switzerland 2007.
The Best Large Equity Group award was presented to Investec Asset Management following years of global equities outperformance spearheaded by global head of equities Mark Breedon. He leads Investecs 4Factor equities team which, according to Lipper, "excelled in delivering consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers in achieving the highest Lipper Leader consistent return rating".
Investec's equity fund managers ultimately led the way in delivering the strongest performance in offshore funds over three years. Well-known funds in this range include Global Strategic Equity Fund, the Asia Equity Fund and the Global Energy Fund.
In addition, Investec Asset Management also scooped the top awards in the Mixed Asset Balanced USD category over three and five years for the Investec GSF Global Strategic Managed Fund, based in Guernsey and managed by Philip Saunders. Over three years the fund has returned 40.56% against a sector average of 29.01% and 72.43% over five years against a sector average of 48.30%.
Hendrik du Toit, Chief Executive Office of Investec Asset Management commented:
"This is great news and backs up all the hard work and dedication that the team has put into building up these funds. We are delighted to have a team in place that has flair, dedication and talent. But equally important is the willingness of the entire business to get behind the team to ensure success. This is a market in which we fully intend to have continued success.
"This award just shows that we as a business are committed to driving home performance all over the world and not just with the domestic business- we have the capabilities to deliver performance wherever our base. We look forward to many more years of successful outperformance."
