Arnold van der Linde, FIA president, announced recently that the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa (FIA) has made two executive management appointments.
Ben Rossouw, former managing director of SAFSIA, has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer and Justus van Pletzen as Chief Operating Officer. Van der Linde says that he is confident that the new appointees will contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of the FIA as they both bring a wealth of experience in financial services.
The intermediary industry is undergoing a transformational phase. Van der Linde emphasises there is a strong need for intermediaries to stand together, and a need for the industry to have one collective voice. The appointments were made to strengthen the executive management team as well as to develop the role of the FIA as the pre-eminent representative organisation for the financial services intermediaries.
Professionalism and communication are strategies to which the FIA is committed and effectively engage in value–adding services for its members, ensuring that its customers receive the best possible advice and service.
