Resolution launches new products and 2009 health offering

30 October 2008 | Healthcare | Medical Schemes | Resolution Health

Resolution, the complete financial services provider today launched its range of additional products as well as its health option offerings for 2009. Divided into four product houses under the umbrella company of Resolution Holdings, Resolution has announced its expansion from health into additional insurance, banking / loyalty and life products.

Resolution Health
In the design of its products for 2009, Resolution health has once again been able to put the interest of members first. On the Hospital Plan, professional fees for in-hospital treatment will now be paid at 150% of the NHRPL. A hospice benefit has been added, and the benefit for MRI, CT and PET scans has also increased.

On the Progressive Plan, the overall hospital limit has increased from R150 000 per individual member to R200 000, and from R300 000 to R400 000 per family. The oncology benefit has also been increased to R200 000 per family. The benefits for hospice care have also been increased.

The oncology benefit on the Prestige Plan has increased to R250 000 per family. The out-of-hospital benefit for specialist visits has increased to 150% of the NHRPL, and the overall annual benefit has also increased. With regards to chronic medication, PMB-related illnesses are no longer limited to the annual limit. The benefit for internal prostheses has increased throughout the Hospital, Progressive and Prestige Plans. The MRI, CT and PET scan benefit has also been increased on the Prestige Plan.

Contribution increases for 2009 have been limited and amount to low rand-for-rand adjustments.

“In an environment in which medical schemes are increasingly making simply cosmetic improvements to their benefits, Resolution Health continues to add real benefits and real rand-for-rand value for money”, said Jannie Kotze, CEO of Resolution. “Percentages are not what determines the value of a contribution increase,” he said,” it is determined by the real rand value and the hidden sacrifices that are sometimes made to keep increases low. At Resolution, we believe in real low rand values in the increases in our contributions, and no hidden benefit sacrifices.”
