Renaissance curatorship lifted, awaiting liquidator

The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) successfully approached the High Court to lift the curatorship of the troubled Renaissance Health Medical Scheme on Friday, 17 October 2008.

The High Court granted an order terminating the curatorship and authorising the appointment of a liquidator to the scheme in terms of Section 53 of the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998.

The CMS is now waiting for the Master of the High Court to confirm the appointment.
