Profmed’s 2010 contribution increase and benefits approved

05 November 2009 | Healthcare | Medical Schemes | Profmed

Both the increase and the benefits of the different options offered by Profmed for 2010 have been approved by the Registrar of the Council for Medical Schemes.

‘In previous years we made a decision to reduce our solvency ratio, as it was in excess of the statutory requirement of 25%. In essence, we decided to return members’ money to them by setting a lower contribution increase,’ said Graham Anderson, the Principal Officer of Profmed.

‘Despite our ongoing efforts to remain competitive with other schemes, and to keep our contribution adjustments in line with the market, we have never reduced our benefit offering,’ said Anderson. ‘We have a policy of maintaining rich benefits,’ he said.

Profmed is a restricted medical scheme open to professionals with a minimum of a four-year degree. Profmed’s benefits and excellent service are offered at affordable rates. The Scheme has an A+ credit rating from international rating agency, Global Credit Ratings. Any person with at least a four-year degree, or two or more degrees that together constitute four or more years of study, which qualifies that person to provide a professional service, qualifies.
