The go ahead has been given for the amalgamation of National Medical Plan (NMP), and Momentum’s Pulz scheme.

As of 1 January 2005, the amalgamated scheme will be launched as Momentum Health Medical Scheme.

The Registrar for Medical Schemes approved the amalgamation of the two schemes on 1 October 2004. The scheme was required to submit its new rules, benefits and pricing structures for 2005.

This was done before the formal deadline and these have now been formally approved.

Anthon Swart, Head of Momentum Health Initiative, believes the new scheme has demonstrated its commitment to members by pre-emptively complying with all legislative requirements.
