CMS: Liquidation of Renaissance and Humanity medical schemes
The Registrar of Medical Schemes regrets to announce that Renaissance Health Medical Scheme and Humanity Medical Scheme will be liquidated in terms of Section 53 of the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998 due to poor financial performance.
Members of Humanity are being given the opportunity to transfer to Community Medical Aid Scheme (COMMED) without any new general or condition-specific waiting periods.
Renaissance members will be given the opportunity to transfer to Medihelp Medical Scheme from 1 October 2008, also without any new general or condition-specific waiting periods. The curatorship of Renaissance has unfortunately failed to bring about the anticipated financial turnaround of the scheme.
Once the transfer of members to COMMED and Medihelp has been concluded, the process of liquidating Renaissance and Humanity will commence.
