HIV/AIDS is a manageable disease, much like any of the other 25 diseases listed on the chronic disease list regulated by the Council for Medical Schemes and Department of Health.
"The value of ‘knowing your status’ means that HIV/Aids can be managed to the extent that patients can lead healthy lifestyles, which includes a healthy sexual lifestyle, and receive treatment when required,” says Dr Gottlich.
