Overhauling Healthcare Legislation: The Next Big Change to Health Pricing

On 18 April 2008 the Minister of Health ('the Minister') published a notice in the Government Gazette setting out sweeping amendments to the National Health Act No. 61 of 2003 ('the NHA') and the Medicines and Related Substances Act No. 101 of 1965, as amended ('the Medicines Act'). The notice published by the Minister called for public comment to be made in respect of the proposed amendments by not later than 16 May 2008.
