InterGlobal: the international private medical insurance agency becomes an insurance company

InterGlobal, the international private medical insurance agency, led by Stephen Hartigan, headquartered in the UK with offices in UAE, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and China, becomes an insurance company.

The move from agency to insurer is part of a $60.7m investment by Alchemy Partners, the private equity firm, and InterGlobal management. It also involved the acquisition of InterGlobal from its previous shareholders.

The new insurance company is FSA regulated and rated B++ (good) by A.M. Best.

As an insurance company InterGlobal will be able to enhance its product and service offering to both brokers and customers.

InterGlobal looks forward to continued strong growth over the coming years.

Stephen Hartigan, Group Managing Director says:

"This is a natural progression for InterGlobal from agency to insurer."

"We look forward to strengthening and deepening our existing broker relationships as well as developing new relationships, and enhancing our customer services levels on the back of this development. "

"We are pleased to have Alchemy on board as a partner and look forward to working with them."

Gavin Loughrey, Alchemy Partners says:

"This is a good business with a strong global presence, operating in an attractive growth market, with a great management team. We look forward to the partnership."
