Heavy weights
Discovery has appointed Dr Penny Tlhabi and Dr Jonathan Broomberg to its senior management team.
Dr Tlhabi returns to Discovery after almost three years as CEO of the Board of Healthcare Funders. She was instrumental in the launch of KeyCare – Discovery Health’s offering to the lower income market – in 2002, and she returns to head up this business again.
Prior to joining Discovery, Dr Tlhabi was CEO of Transmed Administrators.
Dr Broomberg joins Discovery after a long career in helping shape healthcare policy in South Africa.
He is a qualified doctor, Rhodes Scholar and has a PhD in health economics from the University of London.
He joins as General Manager: Strategy and Health Policy, and will be closely involved in shaping Discovery’s low income products and in strategic health partner issues.
Dr Tlhabi and Dr Broomberg will both sit on Discovery’s executive committee.
