Gen-Health enters at lowest increase in market

13 November 2007 Gen-Health

Amidst rising calls for affordability and accessibility, and a year in which medical scheme increases have been higher than they have been in several years, averaging around 11%, Gen-health has announced one of the lowest average increases in the market place at just 6,75%.

Gen-health, which last month moved its administration to Sechaba Medical Solutions, has also extensively boosted its benefits through a general revamp of its current plans for 2008, including comprehensive enhancements of its current benefits as well as a number of new benefits introduced for 2008, including preventive care and mental health benefits.

An exciting edition for 2008 is the introduction of a new low-cost Primary Care Plan, which is a network plan using the Yarona doctor network, an initiative intended to tie in more closely with government’s affordability initiative. Cover on the Primary Cover Plan for 2008 starts at just R349.

“Gen-health focuses on offering members real value for money through a range of solid benefits without the frills that add unnecessary costs. The scheme is financially sound and with the enhanced IT capability through Sechaba we are confident we will be able to sustain our value and continue to improve on service levels,” concludes Boysie Phehlukwayo, Gen-health’s Curator.
